Abstract

This study aims to describe the works of employees and human resource development in the Office of Sub-district head of Kambu on Kendari City. Data collection was done through the distribution of questionnaires, documentation and interviews to the respondents. The results showed that the works of employees in the Office of Sub-district head of Kambu on Kendari were still low. This could be seen from the indicators of timeliness of work, compliance with the rules, quality of work, morale, effective communication, ability to give additional value, and responsibility to the assets of organization. In addition, the development of human resources at the Office of Sub-district head of Kambu on Kendari City was also not maximized. This could be seen from indicators of low mastery of concepts, technical skills and moral development. Keywords : development, human resources, the works, employee

Abstract

The study aims to find the model of inheritance of the ritual of kaago-ago liwu that existed in the Koroni sub-district of North Wakorumba. The method used to perform the analysis is the transmission method of Vansina. The results of this study indicate that there are four methods of inheritance used in ritual kaago-ago liwu that is (1) esoterik method, ritual kaago-ago liwu done in closed. This means that ritual katingka form can only be inherited through his offspring (blood relation); (2) mnemonic method in ritual kaago-ago liwu in form of disastrous diseases that hit the village. (3) The instruction method is used only by sara hukumu to transmit kaago-ago liwu in form of zikir. (4) The controlling method is a model of transmission in the ritual of kaago-ago liwu to evaluate the appropriateness of a person who leading the ritual. Abstract

This research is about the resistance of local society groups to the management of forest resources carried out in protected forest areas of Muna Regency, one of the areas known as teak producers. This research used ethnographic methods and analysis to analyze the forest damage related to land tenure within forest area by farmer group. This study looked at the opposition of group of society to the government in the management of natural resources that were the source of the economy and welfare for the local people in Muna. Land tenure conflicts by farming groups within state forest areas are becoming increasingly out of control and not well resolved between society and governments. This resistance was been assumed as a result of the disappointment of the people especially the people who living around the forest area on the state policy on the management of natural resources, especially forests. According to the society, the management of natural resources in the field of forestry was considered undemocratic, centralized so it was not to the side of the local society as the aggrieved party. Forest management policies that did not bring benefit to the people were perceived as unfair, resulting gaps and social resistance actions from society groups living around protected forest areas in Muna. Abstract

This article is part of a research entitled Tourism Development Model Based on Local Culture of Southeast Sulawesi Province which takes place in three (3) regions of Muna Regency, Konawe District and Wakatobi Regency. This paper focuses on the readiness of stakeholders in the development of local culture-based tourism in Southeast Sulawesi. This article describes the readiness of stakeholders in the development of tourism destinations based on local culture. During this time, the existing tourism only rely on the uniqueness and beauty of the resort itself without any attempt to create a cultural engineering that juxtaposing local culture with tourism. Thus the tourists are not just visiting enjoy the natural beauty of the resort but at the same time can enjoy and witness the art and cultural attractions that are the assets of the area where the tour is located. This research is qualitative. Methods of data collection in this study are observation method and interview method, while data analysis using qualitative data analysis. The results of this study show the readiness of various parties, namely the readiness of the artists, the readiness of the tourism office, the availability of infrastructure of the main roads in remote villages and the readiness of the local community in accepting tourists. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengangkat sastra lisan Wa Ndiu-Diu yang dikhawatirkan akan mengalami kepunahan disebabkan oleh kuatnya arus globalisasi dan modernisme. Masalah yang dilihat dalam penelitian ini adalah struktur cerita sastra lisan Wa Ndiu-Diu dan hubungan serta fungsi sastra lisan tersebut dengan lingkungan alam. Permasalahan tersebut dianalisis dengan memanfaatkan teori folklore dan ekokritik, menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data terdiri dari data primer yaitu setiap kata kata, dialog, serta tindakan dan kejadian yang dialami tokoh dalam sastra lisan wandiu-diu dan data sekunder yaitu segala hal yang berkaitan dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa cerita Wa Ndiu-Diu memiliki fungsi yang sangat signifikan pada masyarakat Buton. Fungsi tersebut adalah, pertama, fungsi pendidikan (paedagogy), fungsi pendidikan ini meliputi pendidikan terhadap anak, dan fungsi pendidikan terhadap orang tua. Kedua, fungsi kepercayaan atau mitos, dan ketiga, fungsi keseimbangan ekologi atau pelestarian alam.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the entrepreneurial behavior of women culinary sellers in the city of Kendari. Informants in this research are women culinary seller in Kendari City which taken purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The data collection was analyzed by descriptive qualitative method. The results show that women culinary sellers already have: relatively strong trust, tend to be task-oriented and result, business risk readiness is still not maximal, leadership is still relatively simple, and culinary originality produced is still relatively limited, and has a tendency to be oriented to the future.

Abstract

Artikel ini mendeskripsikan tentang jalur pelayaran masyarakat Binongko dalam melakukan perdagangan antar pulau dalam wilayah Indonesia menggunakan perahu bhangka. Pelayaran dan perdagangan bagi masyarakat Binongko adalah satu rangkaian yang tidak dapat dipisahkan, karena mereka adalah pelaut dan sekaligus sebagai pedagang. Pelayaran dengan perahu bhangka menggunakan pengetahuan dan teknologi tradisional untuk berlayar. Pola jalur perdagangan dan barang yang diperdagangkan antar pulau selalu sama setiap periode pelayaran, sehingga pola hubungan antara pelayar dengan masyarakat daerah tujuan terjalin hubungan timbal balik yang harmonis karena mereka saling menguntungkan. Barang-barang yang diperadgangkan sudah terpola yakni dari Binongko membawa parang dan sejenisnya ke Maluku, dari Maluku membawa kopra ke Jawa, dan dari Jawa membawa kebutuhan pokok kembali ke Binongko. Sedangkan pada putaran kedua pelayar membawa parang dan sejenis ke Flores, kemudian dari Flores ke Bima menyesuaikan dengan produksi hasil panen petani atau barang-barang lain, dan dari Bima membawa garam ke Bau-Bau. Kemudian dari Bau-Bau kembali ke Binongko membawa barang-barang kebutuhan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This paper seeks to find the logic of marginalization of women in Bugis culture by shifting the orientation of the feminist movement which sees a great tendency to confront the "head to head" between men and women as two hostile poles separate from their cultural context. The focus is on the cultural context that conditioning men and women so that they split into two hostile poles. At this point the problem lies in a patriarchal system that engages with the logic of market capitalism. The method used is ethnographic research to trace the hidden codes and marginalization logic that occur behind events. The ethnographic data are interpreted critically to find a through description of the domination of men who marginalized women in Bugis culture. Thus, the purpose of research is to find the root of the problem in the form of hidden systems and structures that form the basis of cultural practice. The data were taken in the form of snippets case which then interpreted to be focus of important points. In Bugis culture there are three important points on how the patriarchal system with the allies of market capitalism show the conditioning of inequality, in which women and men as young people experience systemic symbolic violence. First point: Family domain. Second Point: Cash in the Bugis marriage ritual process, third point: Language context, discourse (daily conversation) and hidden code in Bugis culture. Finally it is found that the root of the problem of gender inequality lies in the system and structure of Bugis culture, in which the categories of sex and gender, social class, social institutions and the social character of men and women as an inseparable of the unity.

Abstract

This study examines the cultural values and patterns of inheritance of oral literature on Ethnics in Southeast Sulawesi by the oral tradition approach. This research data consists of secondary data and primary data with interview and recording collecting technique. Data were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the cultural value of oral literature has a diversity of points of view on ethnic groups in Southeast Sulawesi. Oral literature is assessed as a religious system, spirit, aesthetics, ethics, morals, entertainment and education. Cultural values are actualized in the way of life and become the signs of character formation of society. The pattern of inheritance of oral literature is a form of product and process of oral tradition. As a product, the arrival or form of oral oral literary messages from person to person across generations. As for the process, oral literature is transmitted through mouth to mouth along with mnemonics devices. This transmission process is influenced by place, time, media or means, performer, situation, mood and method.
